Bradford's on Bishop Cooking Classes

How do you know if it’s seasonal? How do you know if it’s seasoned? How do  you know if it’s good for you? Everyone wants to know more about what we are eating, why we’re eating it and when should we be eating it. Well we are
here to help….

 

Bradford’s on Bishop will be hosting weekly cooking classes focusing on nutritional and seasonal food. The events will be hosted by some of the best up and coming chef’s from Atlanta and the South.  Each participant will be a part of a team of five people that will complete one of four dishes. The dishes will focus on using local, seasonal, fresh, ingredients prepared in a healthy way. You will learn essential kitchen skills, like basic knife work, cooking techniques and food handling.  We will start off with a cocktail and Hors D’ Oeuvres.

 

Everyone will put on an apron and head to their tables. From there, the presenting chef will discuss what dishes you will be preparing that evening, some information about seasonal food and why it should play an important role in your grocery shopping choices. Each team will have their own Chef to guide them through their dishes, giving tips and tricks along the way. At the end of the evening everyone will get a recipe cards for all of their dishes and enjoy the food they have prepared. These classes are a great way to learn how to make more efficient, nutritional and delicious dishes in your own home.

*Latin American Cuisine*

Have a flair for the spicy, sultry food from south of the border? Then this class is for you. Learn delicious dishes from four Latin American countries.

 

*French Cuisine*

The beginning of it all, French food, you will learn the slightly controversial heritage of French food, and some of the most classic and famous French dishes and their mother sauces.

 

*Knife Skills*

Learn how to use those fancy knives you got as a wedding present. You will learn how to care for your knife, lots of different cuts, how to break down different vegetables and proteins.  This is a great class for the home cook who wants a solid foundation in basic techniques that all great chefs must know.

 

*Girls Night Out*

Sure you need to cook and eat healthy, but there is also the time and NEED for something rich. We will be showing some great, quick and healthy meals for you can make for lunch and dinner. Then we will show you a rich fun dish  (see chocolate).

 

*Capoeira Cuisine*

This class will offer a unique demonstation of the Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira.  Then in addition students chefs will teach about lean diet and foods necessary to maintain peak performance for this physically demanding artform. *

*Soups 1*

The art of soup making encompasses classic stock preparation, knife work, flavor development, and finesse.  This class will be the first of a series teaching preparation of three different soups.

 

*Modern Thai Cuisine 1*

Love Thai food and wish you could do it at home but don't know where to start?  This introductory course will teach technique and authentic favorites from our neighbors in the Far East.
